Project Transitions

Project Transitions is the only Central Texas organization providing low and no cost hospice and recuperative care, transitional housing and wrap-around services for people living with HIV/AIDS. What started as a small hospice facility in 1988, has grown into a community and hope for those who have struggled with illness, stigma and lack of support.

They always welcome new volunteers to their agency and programs. Some volunteers have been volunteering with them regularly since 1989, while others may volunteer at one or two fundraising events per year. They do their best to accommodate your interests, skills and schedule.

Current needs:

e-Bay Store Manager: They need a volunteer to help run the e-Bay store for Top Drawer Thrift store. You’ll post items for sale, follow-up with buyers, answer questions and help with shipping.

Public Relations: They are looking for experienced volunteers to help them with Public Relations tasks such as press releases, planning publicity strategies, implementing a monthly giving program and organizing promotional events.

Gardeners and landscapers are needed at their facilities to keep them an inviting place for their tenants.

Handymen and suppliers are needed to aid in their quest to keep their properties in good repair. Some items they are in need of are new cabinetry, bathtubs, and appliances. They also are in need of the linoleum tile floors being buffed and refinished.

Silent Auction Committee: They are putting together a committee to help year-round with procuring items for their fundraisers. You’ll help develop a solicitation action plan (including a wish list and potential sources of donations).
