vsa-texas-webGreat Promise for American Indians has asked VSA Texas for help in volunteering for their 24th Annual Austin Powwow at their Accessibility Booth.

Saturday November 7, 2015

9 am to 10 pm —
Grand Entry at 9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm

 There will be an Accessibility Booth Set up at a designated entrance to assist people in guiding them to the accessible seating areas and also assist in guiding people who are blind or of low vision as to where to sit, possibly giving them some description of what the dancers are doing.  You will be paired up with one of their volunteers.  We need people who can take charge, know about the meaning of accessibility and be of service to those that need accessible accommodations.  Be proactive and energetic and response to requests.  The shifts are minimal.

 There is a required orientation on October 26, at 7:00pm, AGE Building (Austin Groups for the Elderly of Central Texas), large meeting room 161, 3710 Cedar St. (right off 38th and Guadalupe).  You will be given your T-Shirt at that time.  

 Shifts are two hours each, but you are welcome to stay longer.  This is a fabulous and well attended event.

 Come enjoy traditional dancers, singers, arts and crafts, storytelling and foods. The largest Native American gathering in Texas!
