9/11 Day of Service Project

This year’s 9/11 Day of Service Project is a collaboration with Sunrise Community Church. Sunrise provides services and basic needs to the homeless population in south Austin.

The Sunrise Community Church homeless program serves food, provides trauma counseling, provides mail services, offers housing navigation services, provides document storage and ID services and offers MAP sign ups, VA consultations and Social Security Disability help.

Community Care has a health van set up at the church during this time for COVID-19 which provides drug and alcohol treatment referrals. During the pandemic the church has seen and increase in clients they serve every day. They have been providing meals to over 300 people in one day.

Coming of Age solicited donations so that they could purchase much needed clothing and toiletries for the clients at Sunrise. The staff and clients were very appreciative of the donations from Coming of Age.
