The Chronic Pain Self–Management Education workshop, developed at Stanford, is offered to adults 60 years of age or older experiencing chronic pain.
Participants will learn:
- Techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation
- Moving easy exercise and nutrition for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance
- Appropriate use of medications
- Pacing activity and rest
- Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
This workshop meets weekly for 6 weeks for 2.5 hours. It will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16-Feb. 20, 2018.
